After
their tough loss against the Heiligenstein Crusaders the Wolverines
youth showed why they are one of the favourites to win the league. By
winning the game against the Rockland Raiders by a final score of
0:50(0:30) they didn't just played a perfect game but they played the
highest scoring game in team history and are leader again.
Even though the Wolverines fans were happy about the score the game was pretty much over before it started.
Right from the beginning the Team was highly motivated and concentrated.
The
Wolverines Defense started the game in a new formation the 4-4 but this
new system was used perfectly. The 3rd play of the Game D-End Alexander
Fuchs was able to sack the Quarterback and force a fumble which Defense
captain Vadim Adam was able to return for a Td. The following 2 point
conversion was successful as Rd AJ Aliyev carried the ball into the end
zone.
Lead by Qb Johannes Franzen the Offense played highly
concentrated and RB AJ Aliyev had an average of 15 yards a carry and
score a Td at the end of the first drive. After the 2PC by Fullback
Martin Karling the score was 0:16 Wolverines.
The Wolverines D had a prefect day and it was D-End Tobi Ziegelmayer who recovered the next Neuwied fumble.
QB Johannes Franzen lead the offense attack back onto the field and showed the opponent that 0:16. won't last long
Again
the perfect running game scored for the Wolverines. This time it was QB
Franzen who carried the ball into the end zone after a short drive
covered 32 yards.
The
Wolverines D kept dominating and it was D-'Tackle Stefan "Dude" Braun
who sacked the Qb and it was than D-end Alexander Radica who recovered
the Fumble and returned it 45 Yards for a TD. It was Guard Tim
Steinmann who scored the TPC as Fullback and the score at halftime was
0:30.
Radice, who recovered 2 fumbles had 2 sacks and scored a Td was the Defense MVP of the game and showed the game of his life.
After the break the Wolverines continued running the ball and it was again QB Franzen who scored a rushing Td.
The Raiders offense was not able to do anything against the stingy
defense and it was Mike Backer Moritz Milde who intercepted a pass that brought the offense back on the field.
Again it was Qb Franzen who scored with a Qb sneak. The following TPC was scored by WR Felix Wüst.
The referees decided to call the Mercy- rule that prevented both teams from taking time outs or the clock to stop otherwise.
That did not prevent the wolverines from scoring.
For
the last time this day the Wolverines offense was on the field and for
the first time this season it was a pass that lead to a TD. A
wonderfully thrown deep pass by Qb Franzen to Rookie Receiver Tim
Collet was carried into the end zone fr 60 yards. It was the first ever Wolverines passing Td.

we played highly concentrated the whole game and played to our
strengths.Highlights were the 6 turnovers and the 2 defense TDs. The
Defense was perfect and unstoppable. Im so proud of my team and they
can be proud of themselves" Headcoach Jürgen van der Heyde said. |
