  • For the game at the 29.06.08 the second of the table from the  Moselle, the Wolverines of the  FSV Trier Tarforst, had to go to the Fighting Farmers at Montabaur. Even if the  boys could achieve their aim to come back home with another victory,  it was harder than intended. The homeward journey begun with a scant 8: 6 in the baggage. Perhaps it was also indicated by the fact that the coaches hat to renounce ten starting players.

At the beginning the game was very balanced, both teams were able to achieve a good yardage. In the 2nd Quater were the both Runningacks Jason Midgett and Karling Martin used as bulldozers by the  Wolverines. With the success  that a short time later, a touchdown was reached by Jason Midgett. Moritz Milde yet completed the 2 point conversion, and so the score was 0 - 8 With this result, it was also in the mid-term.

Immediately after the kickoff theWolverines lost the Offense because of a  Fumble by Heinz Max . Gradually, the Wolverines were not able to concentrate anymore and the Wolverine’s defense seemed to be more and more unoriented. Even if the Fighting Farmer’s QB could be stopped early but somehow no one of the Wolverines sought to tackle correctly.
  • The Fighting Farmers always pushed the Trier Defense back to their own Goalline, but here the Montabaur Fighting Farmers had no chance and were not able to score.

Shortly before the end of the game (2. 3 min) the Montabauer Fighting Farmers were rewarded for their efforts and achieved the desired Touchdown. The 2 point conversion allowed the Trier Wolverines to awake again and the new awoke will thus prevented. It stood 6-8

The Wolverine in the attack were now right and tried to gain a few yards. After the Fighting Farmers could hold the Wolverines in 3 attempts in their  half of the field, the Wolverines gave away the ball with a punt. A great punt by Christian Wollscheid flew high and far into the opponents' zone and touched a player of Montabaur Fighting Farmer, so it was a free ball. These could be secured for the Wolverines by  Kevin Musselmann. There were still 49 seconds to play and Head Coach George Hamelman wanted no risk and let the clock running down so the game ended with 6-8 for the Trier Wolverines.
"It was not our best game, but in the end we were the ones who won. We still have a lot to change and do better but we can all take pride in the 2nd place in the overall standings to which we ourselves with this victory could secure. After all, this team is indeed only since January 2008, "said Head Coach Hamelman. Now just the homegame against the table leaders from Heiligenstein  the Crusadors is left at  the beginning of August. Perhaps the Wolverines can trip the leader of the group up as a season concluding  to rehabilitate the first game’s defeat.
